Ten-Year Retrospective Exhibition by Theo Paul Vorster at Art.B Gallery
27 March 2021 - 10 April 2021
Theo Paul Vorster, acknowledged as one of the country’s most accomplished lino cut artists, will exhibit at Art.B Gallery, Bellville, from Saturday, 27 March to 10 April 2021. ‘Looking Back’, a ten-year retrospective, will showcase his work from this period and will be available from the gallery as well as online.
Vorster is known for creating unique pieces of art that always display magical colour and energy, luring the viewer into a surrealistic world filled with playful drama. Says Vorster: “It’s exciting to revisit some of my older prints and colour them for this exhibition. It feels as if I’m breathing new life into them. Some of the works are last print editions seeing that I also sell the original lino. The printed editions are low, which safeguards the prints’ exclusivity as I can never reprint.
“This solo exhibition has given me the ideal opportunity to showcase some of my work again and give those interested the opportunity to own them. Fortunately I had to unpack my prints cabinet to move it and realised how many beautiful lino prints there were waiting for me to colour and show again,” he explains.
All the works for the exhibition will be uploaded onto the Art.B website where those unable to attend the opening this coming Saturday at 11am, can view and purchase the works.
Vorster concludes: “Art B’s website is fully e-commerce enabled. Online sales will open at the same time as the opening of the exhibition.”
Vorster’s exhibition will open at Art.b Gallery on Saturday, 27 March 2021 at 11:00. Strict Covid 19 protocols will be in place.
