The formidable Toyota Hilux Dakar is back with an impressive facelift and tougher than ever!
Toyota is one of the front-runners when it comes to buying a bakkie. It has been like this for years, and if they keep doing what they’ve always done, it will never change. The brand-new Toyota Hilux Dakar is universally accepted, a global leader in its range wherever you are in the world.
Hello good looking
The Toyota Hilux Dakar’s new facelift is pristine, neat and boisterously rugged. It screams attitude. The modern grille, this time around, is squarer in design. The same design aspects featured in the grille can be seen on the lower bumper area, too. The Hilux Dakar edition sports signature Dakar insignia.
Refined from within
As rugged and mean as the Hilux Dakar looks on the outside, its pretty refined on the inside, which is a pleasant surprise. The interior is all black from the roof lining all the way to the all-black leather upholstery. This creates a luxurious impression. The infotainment system packs everything you need from Satellite Navigation to Bluetooth, USB reader, CD/DVD Player. All of this is run by an easy to use, fuss-free touch screen.
The Hilux Dakar is available in Xtra Cab and Double Cab. There are two models in the line-up, all based on the Raider models. The 2.8 GD-6 powertrain and the 4.0l V6. The V6 is only available in the Double Cab. The 2.8 GD-6 model is packed with an impressive four-cylinder turbo-diesel motor that kicks out 130kW and 420Nm in the manual variant and 450Nm in the automatic. The impressive V6 kicks out 175kW and 376Nm.
The Toyota Hilux Dakar’s starting price is at R470 300 for the manual 2.8 GD-6 Xtra Cab and clocking up to R662 700 for the powerful V6. Toyota always takes care of business once you leave the showroom floor. The 2.8 GD-6 models come with a standard 9 services/90 000km service plan, and the 4.0 V6 model comes with 6 services/90 000km period plan.
Couple this all with a warranty period of 3year/100 000km on all models and you are good to go.
