Glen Grant

Explore the intricacies of pairing two of the most distinguished and delicious treats in the world, whisky and chocolate. The Table Bay presents another beautifully curated experience that will appeal to whisky connoisseurs, chocolate lovers and everyone in between – A Whisky and Chocolate Pairing.

“It is as though whisky and chocolate were made to go together. In their purest forms both chocolate and whisky are made from simple ingredients that combine to produce a complex orchestra of flavours.”

“Of course, the wrong choices could detract rather than enhance the flavour of one or the other. It is a delicate process that we want to explore with people who appreciate a good whisky, chocolate or both. It is certainly an exciting departure from the traditional concept of whisky and cigar pairings,” says Marc Weber, The Table Bay’s Food and Beverage Manager.

At the Whisky and Chocolate Pairings guests will be taken on an insightful journey of three single malts by Glen Grant. These include the entry level Majors Reserve, a 10 year single malt (award winning single malt in 2016) and a 12 year single malt. These will be paired with samples from the premium Lindt Excellence Dark Chocolate range.

“We have chosen Glen Grant single malts because we believe they are quite underrated. Yet, for someone who is starting to explore single malts, they are an exceptionally flavourful, easy drinking and well priced.

“When selecting chocolate to pair, Lindt came up trumps for its smooth texture, layers of flavour and melt- in-your mouth sumptuousness.”

The Table Bay’s Whisky and Chocolate Pairings will take place on Monday nights at the Camissa Brasserie. The cost per person is R175.
