The Slave Route Challenge is a fun fitness day event that traces the historic slave route in Cape Town, while honouring those who built our city. Avid runners can participate in a half marathon or 10 km run, while beginners can join the 10 km Big Walk or 5 km fun run/walk. The Slave Route Challenge takes participants from the City Hall through District 6, Gardens, Company Gardens, Wale Street, BoKaap, Sea Point (Cape Town Stadium), Green Point (Fort Wynyard), CBD and back down Darling Street into the Castle of Good Hope to the finish on the Grand Parade.

Nuy Valley Feast 2018

The Nuy Valley Feast is an annual daylong wine and olive festival hosted by four fabulous estates in the Nuy Valley just outside Robertson. Taste Nuy Wine Cellar’s long list of award-winning wines; go on a tour through Willow Creek Olive Estate’s brand new factory and learn how extra virgin olive oil is cold extracted; go for a 7 or 14 km trail run at Conradie Penhill Wines; and listen to live music by Kaleidoskoop, Coffee Snobs, and Francois Louw at Leipzig Country House & Winery. Each estate has unique offerings of food, wine, entertainment, and kids’ activities.

Knysna Pink Loerie Mardi Gras and Arts Festival 2018

The Pink Loerie, now in its 16th year, is a vibrant, colourful, and flamboyant annual festival held in the charming town of Knysna. At its heart, however, is the celebration of freedom and of all things LGBTQIA, so expect lots of dancing, music, floats, performers, and fun events, which will be held at various locations throughout the town and night club. The festival culminates in the grand finale: the Pink Loerie Mardi Gras, the Parade and after-party.

The South African Independent Film Festival is a dynamic platform upon which both emerging and experienced filmmakers can showcase their art, network with others, and learn. These showcased works are then reviewed and judged, providing filmmakers with access to a larger audience through media artistic events. This year, for its first year ever, the SA Independent Film Festival will be adding international films to its local line-up.

Bo-Kaap Tour and Cape Malay Lunch

The tour begins at the Iziko Bo-kaap Museum, where local resident and community activist, Bilquees Baker, takes guests on a walking tour to private, sacred and public spaces.
