TOKARA is awarded its rightful place in the World’s Top 50 Most Admired Wine Brands annual list according to UK-based magazine Drinks International.

TOKARA, an award-winning wine estate in Stellenbosch, has been named as one of the World’s Top 50 Most Admired Wine Brands for 2018 – one of only three South African wine brands to attain this global accolade. The prestigious Drinks International World’s 50 Most Admired Wine Brands annual awards is a globally recognised honour.

To be named as one of the ‘World’s Most Admired Wine Brands’ is a true testament to TOKARA’s forward-thinking vision, solidifying the strength and appreciation of our brand and speaking to our continued commitment to excellence in wine,” said Karl Lambour, general manager.

TOKARA prides itself in creating remarkable wines for our customers while still staying true to our philosophy of terroir-driven wines.”

“Receiving this honour is the result of the hard work and dedication of all TOKARA employees, as well as the devotion of the winery’s loyal customers, for which we are incredibly grateful.”

To create the ‘The World’s Most Admired Wine Brands’ list, Drinks International polled wine professionals from around the world.  Over 200 of the world’s top masters of wine, sommeliers, educators and journalists took part.  This poll judges wine brands from across the world from all regions, styles and qualities against each other. The votes were based on the following criteria – the wine should be of consistent or improving quality; it should reflect its region or country of origin; it should respond to the needs and tastes of its target audience; it should be well marketed and packaged and it should have strong appeal to a wide demographic.

TOKARA is one of only three new entries onto this respected list.  It is a list where old world icons like Chateau Petrus, Sassicaia and Chateau Mouton Rothschild rub shoulders with their new world counterparts like Cloudy Bay, Robert Mondavi and Tokara.

TOKARA is open 9am-6pm weekdays and 10am-6pm on Saturdays and Sundays. For further information visit , email , phone 021 808 5900. Follow @TOKARA_ZA on Twitter and Facebook
