Coffee shops

Just 25 minutes outside of the Cape Town city centre, sprawls a vast patchwork quilt of suburbs that include Durbanville, Century City, Stellenbosch, Plattekloof, and Bellville. Turkspirit was originally opened in 2007 as a manufacturer of Turkish delight and delicacies. Just recently, however, they decided to open an adjunctive café where patrons can experience an authentic Turkish coffee service right in the heart of Stellenbosch. Here, they serve real Turkish coffee (and Turkish delight, of course) the traditional way. For the hungry, there’s a wonderful breakfast and lunch menu with plenty of options for vegetarians.

Boston Coffee, Bellville

The reason we love this little gem of a coffee shop is because the baristas are always friendly and exceptionally knowledgeable on the subject of coffee. If you don’t know its there, you might drive right past it, but once inside you’ll understand just why Boston Coffee has become such a favourite coffee spot. They roast their own beans (and so the aromas inside the café are intoxicating) and their décor is delightfully rustic and eclectic, with second-hand pallet tables and a variety of different chairs for seating.
