Art, in any shape and form, speaks a language. If they induce some form of a reaction the artist has done their job. Frances Schandera-Duarte sends the message loud and clear.
Frances Schandera-Duarte, born in Germany, studied her way through fashion design and a few years later conquered a postgraduate diploma in Fine Arts. It’s here that her true passion flourished and has since had a wide range of her artwork on display internationally.
Her eclectic/abstract style sees her using a large array of materials in her paintings, including oil paint with ink, glued surgical gauze, mineral sands and various textured papers. Her latest masterpieces show off a florallike inspiration and bursts with bright colours.
Frances resides between South Africa and Germany with her husband, South African artist Everett Duarte.
Her work can be found at the Voir Fine Art Gallery in Melkbosstrand, www.voirartgallery.com
